What else can I do Doctor?

It is an invariable question that the fertility couple is bound to pose after the final leg of treatment. The hectic activity is over and now is the time to wait for the results and believe me, it can be very stressful.
There is definitely the usual about medication and diet and rest, but the most important culprit that has to be tackled is STRESS!!
Women should be advised to do whatever keeps their mind off the outcome of pregnancy. this slow de-petalling with "Will it..wont it" causes a lot of problems. Research has shown there are highest level of stress is documented on the day the final test for pregnancy confirmation is made. The Doctor's advice to the couple has to take care of the waiting period as well as the DAY! One way to look at things is to say to one self, I have given my best as has my doctor, ther's only so much i can do, and quoting Scarlett'O Hara's famous words in Gone with the Wind "'ll think about this tomorrow"! It's a good idea to go right back to work as long as that keeps one's mind off the pregnancy outcome. If the work happens to be too strenuous then a normal happy break at home is definitely advised. There's absolutely no restriction on normal day to day activities, unless specified by the doctor for special reasons.
Positivity does go a long way in keeping things in perspective here. If in doubt, do call for help. it could be your doctor, the counselor or a support group, which help you cope better with situations
Whether or not coping skills can help you get pregnant is a topic of debate. Of course, it's great if coping better will help. But life shouldn't lose its enjoyment and small bits of pleasure just because you're trying to have a baby!

  1. I truly believe in the laws of attraction. What you think continuously is what you are attracting and that's what comes back to you. Worry always sends out negative thoughts... and that is stress coming back to you. If one cant help but think about "Am I or am i not pregnant?", how about if women genuinely believed they were pregnant? I know this has the risk of then what if someone doesnt conceive? How do they handle this? Still it's worth a shot. Atleast in the waiting days, you are being positive and that's what's important
