Tailor made or Readymade..what would you like?

"Treat a Person, not a symptom or a body part" a wise physician would say! But even in our daily lives, do we really follow the exclusivity of choices, or do we just succumb to the over hyped retail chains of goods that are off the shelves? What would you do when choosing some thing optional, not an essential? Fertility treatment falls in the exclusive domain of optional rather than an essential, unlike say a Cesarean Section or a Bypass surgery. It cannot be and should not be an option one chooses off the shelf.
First thing that drives a fertility treatment is the wish of the patient. What they want and how soon is the prime concern here. Then comes the clinical opinion on whether what they wish for is realistic and medically sound for the given situation. Associated is the evaluation of the expectations and concerns of the couple. Hence fertility treatment ideally should be tailor made for the clinical diagnosis, wishes of the patient and cater to them as a special couple, looking into each and every aspect closely and personally. For a similar kind of clinical diagnosis, the approach can be very different in a girl of 25 and one at 37.It will also heavily depend on how the couple want their treatment plan shaped.
A ready made option with a ready price tag puts off the couple and is never the ideal solution. We need some more personal touch, consideration for the delicate issue it is and deal with this as a freshly fashioned boutique treatment pertaining to the one couple sitting in the consulting room at the time. Instilling confidence in the couple is as important as delivering them the correct treatment and that comes with the tailor made treatment plan, involving the couple in each step. Remember, what we know well does'nt scare us!
